About Bottle Beach

Bottle Beach β€” officially Haad Khuad β€” is tucked into the northern coastline of Koh Phangan, sheltered by jungle-covered hills. There is no road access, which is exactly why it has remained one of the most unspoiled stretches of sand on the island.

The beach is about 400 metres long, with powder-white sand, calm clear water and excellent snorkelling just offshore. A handful of simple bungalow operations and small cafes provide the only facilities.

How to Get There

  • Longtail boat β€” the easiest option. Boats depart from Thong Sala pier and Chalok Lam village. Fare 100–200 baht one way. Journey about 20–30 minutes from Chalok Lam.
  • Jungle trek β€” from Chalok Lam village, a marked trail through the jungle for approximately 2 hours. Steep in places; wear proper shoes.

Snorkelling

The water is exceptionally clear with healthy coral gardens close to shore. Rent a mask from the bungalow operations (around 100–150 baht/day).

Practicalities

  • Bring cash β€” no ATMs anywhere near the beach
  • Mobile signal is weak or absent
  • Last boat back to Chalok Lam is typically around 17:00
  • In rough weather (October–December) boats may not run
