About Half Moon Festival

Founded in 1999 by DJs Jao Pattanasiri and Oren Mizrachi, the Half Moon Festival has grown into one of the most prestigious club events in Southeast Asia. It runs twice a month, timed around the Full Moon Party — with one edition about a week before the FMP and one about a week after.

Unlike the massive, chaotic Full Moon Party, Half Moon is a ticketed, curated festival with professional production values, international headliners, and a more music-focused crowd.

The Two-Day Experience

Day 1 — Harmony Beach Club

A sun-soaked beach club party starting at 14:00. Infinity pool, sea views, cocktail service, international DJs spinning deep house and electronic music. The vibe is sophisticated and relaxed — swimwear, daybeds, and sunset cocktails. Runs until midnight.

Day 2 — Magical Forest

Three stages carved into the jungle about 2km inland from the beach. Lasers, LED installations, costumed performers. Music ranges from techno and house on the main stage to psytrance and world music on the smaller stages. 21:00 until after sunrise.

Getting There

Both venues are in the Ban Tai area, about 10 minutes south of Thong Sala by songthaew or bike. Shuttles run from Thong Sala on event nights. Tickets include shuttle service from designated pickup points.

Tips

• Buy tickets online — they sell out for high season events
• High season (November–March) editions bring the biggest international headliners
• The Magical Forest stage is the highlight — arrive before midnight
• Bring layers for the jungle night — it can get cool before sunrise
