About Malibu Beach
Stretching west from Chaloklum Bay, Malibu is known for powder-fine sand and a scattering of oddly charming round-topped trees along the shoreline that show up in half the sunset photos taken on this coast. It's genuinely one of the most photogenic, least crowded beaches on the island.
The seasonal catch
Malibu looks its best from November to May, when the water is clear and calm enough for a proper swim. Outside that window it's more of a scenic walk than a swimming beach — worth knowing before you make the trip specifically to swim. Check our weather guide if you're timing a visit.
Getting there
About 10–15 minutes by bike from Thong Sala, via Chaloklum on the north coast road. Easy riding, no mountain sections.
Good to know
- Bring your own water and snacks — facilities are minimal out here
- Combine with a stop in Chaloklum village on the way, it's right next door
- One of the better spots on the island if you want a beach entirely to yourself
