Full Moon Party dates — July to December 2026

So I get asked this basically every week: when exactly is the next Full Moon Party? Fair question, because the dates shift every month and there's a lot of outdated info floating around online. Let me set the record straight for the rest of 2026. 🌕

The dates — July to December 2026

• July 31 (Friday) — note: moved from July 29 due to Buddhist Asalha Bucha Day and Buddhist Lent on July 30
• August 28 (Friday)
• September 27 (Sunday)
• October 26 (Monday)
• November 25 (Wednesday)
• December 24 (Thursday — yes, Christmas Eve FMP is a thing, and it's wild)

Always double-check closer to the date — things occasionally shift a day due to Thai holidays or other reasons. The official FMP site is the most reliable source.

About the July date shift

A lot of people are showing up expecting a party on July 29 and finding... nothing. The actual full moon is July 29 but that coincides with Asalha Bucha Day — a major Buddhist holiday — and July 30 is the beginning of Buddhist Lent (Khao Phansa). The organizers moved the party to July 31. This is totally normal, happens a few times a year when the full moon falls on a sacred day.

What to expect in high season (November–December)

If you're coming for November or December — get your accommodation sorted NOW. Seriously. I've seen people show up in December with no booking and end up sleeping on the songthaew. Prices in Haad Rin triple or more on FMP weekends. The beach also gets absolutely packed — we're talking 25,000+ people for the December editions.

The vibe in high season is incredible though. Great energy, perfect weather, and the Christmas Eve party is genuinely one of the most memorable nights you can have in Southeast Asia 🎄🔥

Quick tips from someone who's been to... many of these

• Water taxi from Thong Sala pier (200 baht) is honestly the way to go — avoid the traffic madness on the mountain road
• Bring cash. The ATMs around Haad Rin run out by 11pm, and the ones that don't will have a queue
• Stay out of the water. I know I say this every time. People drown at FMP every year. The ocean is beautiful, but not at night when you've been drinking
• Agree on a meeting spot with your group before you go in — signal disappears with 20k people in one place
