Lomprayah adding extra sailings from November — here's the new schedule
·Phangan Guide

OK this is genuinely good news for high season travel. If you've ever been stuck at the Samui ferry terminal watching a sold-out Lomprayah leave without you, you'll appreciate this.

From November 1, 2026, Lomprayah is adding two extra daily sailings on the Samui ↔ Phangan route. That takes it from 5 to 7 sailings per day in each direction. About time, honestly — the 16:30 and 17:30 departures in particular get absolutely slammed in peak season.

New schedule (from November 1)

Samui → Phangan: 07:30, 09:30, 11:00, 12:30, 14:00, 16:00, 17:30

Phangan → Samui: 08:00, 10:00, 11:30, 13:00, 14:30, 15:30, 17:00

Prices in high season

Samui ↔ Phangan has been running 250–300 baht per person. Book online at lomprayah.com or directferries.com — the Lomprayah app also works well if you prefer that.

High season ferry tips (learned the hard way)

  • Book in advance for December and January. The 09:30 and 14:00 sailings fill up weeks ahead during peak weeks
  • If you have a vehicle — Raja Ferry only, and yes, you absolutely need to book the vehicle space ahead of time
  • Storms can cancel sailings November–December. If the weather looks rough, have a backup plan. The guesthouse doesn't owe you a refund because the ferries aren't running 😅
  • The pier in Thong Sala can get chaotic on FMP weekends. Get there early
