Each entry gets you 180 days, with one extension of up to another 180 days available through Thai immigration — meaning a full year on a single entry if you extend.
What you need
- At least 500,000 baht (or the foreign-currency equivalent) held in your account — and it needs to have genuinely been sitting there for at least 3 months, not just deposited right before applying
- At least 20 years old
- A clean record with Thai immigration — no blacklisting or serious overstay history
- Apply from outside Thailand — this can't be done while you're already here
What's gotten stricter in 2026
