Than Sadet Beach sits at the mouth of the river that feeds Koh Phangan's most historically significant waterfall — several Thai kings visited and meditated at the falls upstream, and the beach shares that quieter, less commercial character. It's a relaxed cove rather than a party beach, with reliable swimming most of the year thanks to the sheltered bay.
Swimming here
Unlike some east coast spots that depend heavily on season, Than Sadet's bay stays swimmable year-round. It's noticeably quieter than the west coast beaches — most visitors come specifically for the waterfall and treat the beach as a bonus rather than the main event, which keeps it uncrowded.
The waterfall next door

Getting there
About 35 minutes by bike from Thong Sala, heading east through Ban Tai. The road climbs into the hills toward the end.
